Central Park

My friend Heather and I met Filipe and little Alexander in the city for lunch and a stroll through central park. Not quite the weather you would hope for a day in the park, but I had to scout a few locations for an upcoming shoot in June. Looks promising, but I'll have to revisit when there are leaves on the trees. It was kinda nice to be a tourist for a little while. That's the greatest thing about NYC, there's so many places and things to see... you can live there and still be a tourist!

me2

After years of self-portraits, I finally had the privilege of being the photographee! My friend and amazing fellow photographer Steve Depino snapped a few shots of me when we were at an awesome seminar in Mystic... (more to come about the seminar!) It was about 15 degrees outside and so windy the cold went right through me! But I braved it in just a thin long sleeved t-shirt! Oh, the things we will do for the fun of a photo! Somewhere Paul and Krystal of Studiofoto should have some interesting shots too... break it out guys! I'm so excited and I can't wait to see them! Thanks Steve, I so appreciate the opportunity to be on the other side of the lens for the first time! It was so much fun, I can't wait to do it again... maybe next time in warmer weather!

ski-bum-in-training

I met Ian at a ski resort. I don't ski, but I'll gladly hang out and people-watch and drive all my jello-legged friends home. It was Ian's first day of skiing and as a photographer... little did he know that all of the photos were of him!

new JAGstudios green page

I've created a new page on the JAGstudios website listing some great online resources for planning a stylish green wedding. My favs are ecochicweddings.com and freshvintagestyle.com.
I'm all about Salvation Army, Goodwill, thrift stores, estate sales and tag-sales too. My entire home and studio are furnished with second-hand and vintage items, hand-me-downs, and sweet antique-store finds. It's so much more fun to shop for, even if it's in someone's basement! You never know what you're going to find! I love to live as sustainable and environmentally conscious as possible. And I run my business the same way too!

perfect performance

On a past episode of the American Idol auditions (yes, I watch American Idol sometimes) I had the pleasure of experiencing 18 yr old Josiah Leming perform "Grace Kelly" by Mika. I had never heard this song before, but it rocks and this kid rocked it too... it was all worth it for one perfect audition.

an unexpected treat... February sunshine and then some

You know when it's February when freezing temperatures are mixed with the warmest, sunniest, I-think-spring-is-really-soon days. Unfortunately the great thing about being a photographer is sometimes you have to be inside working on these rare sunny days. Fortunately the great thing about being a photographer is your clients love you for it! I was sitting in front of my computer wrapped in a warm blanket of sunshine when I received the greatest "thank-you-this-is-for-while-you-work-take-a-break-from-the-computer" package ever! Kutta was psyched that she had a chance for a little well deserved attention while I opened it... I was psyched to get an unexpected package, but how can you resist her all toasty from lying in the sun!?! Wine, cheese, smoked salmon and even toffee peanuts! (a package that definitely deserved the above mentioned title) I love my clients! They really know how I like to work! (...of course it will be well deserved when I'm done!) Thank you so much... you rock!

baby love

Tangie + Adrian = Gibson
By far the coolest, most laid-back, chill baby ever! We hung out from bath-time to nap-time! Tangie is the most amazing mother, and Adrian is the most amazing drummer, so when Gibson got a little cranky all daddy had to do was play drums with him and a little guitar to put him to sleep, and momma held him til he woke. This baby is going to be playing music before he can crawl. Gotta love musicians.
