Mary and Justin are married!

What an honor to be able to attend their Wedding last Saturday at the Noank Baptist Church and then The Branford House on the Uconn campus in Groton. Perfect day, perfect people, perfect lighting, perfect locations... wedding photographers really know how to have a wedding! I tried to not have my camera, but that didn't really work so I just played around and shot the whole wedding from the hip (and from the heart)! It was so nice to just be a guest, but to be surrounded by photographers was killer! David Jay did an amazing job photographing the day with [b]ecker and Matt Grazier on his side! These guys have got it going on, they absolutely rock! Late night was bombarded with some of our CT PUG friends... way to tear up the dance floor! You guys rock. Congratulations Mary and Justin... we love you.

remember...
everyone needs to spin in a big fluffy dress...

the bridesmaids dresses were so beautiful...

here comes the bride!

Mary's dress was quite spectacular.

perfectly placed petals.

Amanda Harris... shootin it up!

Mr. and Mrs. Justin Marantz!

the cake was jeweled by wedding photos of their parents and grandparents, with their engagement photo on the top tier.

They couldn't have picked a better location....

DJ w/ Paul and Matt Grazier working their magic with the boys...

the first dance

oh, here we go... CT PUG in da house...

the awesome Sarah Barlow and myself on the dance floor!

Matt Grazier and I shot it up while Mary burned it up on the dance floor...

I love this one... Mary's totally up in the air!

Steve Depino... I still don't know what you're seeing with that right eye open!!! There's the proof though, huh!

did I mention that Mary burned it up on the dance floor?

I'm maybe not going to ask about this one! Carla Ten Eyck and Paul McNerney

everyone loves to spin in a big fluffy dress!

That's it folks!

Just kidding... they're back for some more!

I so think Justin finally got his chance to be superman in this shot! (he IS a super man)!

Mary's givin it up! woohoo!

perfect end to a perfect day guys!

capturecrosscountry.com

T-minus 3 days and counting! I'm so psyched to be on the road again... fresh air, mountains, desert, the feeling of an reckless abandonment, dangerous circumstances... spending time in the southwest again will be quite reviving. I love not knowing what the day will bring.

I'm setting up a new site for all the photos of our travel called capturecrosscountry.com, and a blog to keep in touch with Chris and I. The site will begin once we get on the plane and will be an ongoing gallery as we make our way from the West coast back home to the East coast. Check it out and keep up with us!

Check out photos from our last trip cross country here.

the next few posts...

are going to be long ones! I'm slightly overwhelmed right now... slightly. Lot's of AWESOME work happening right now, those images, I'll post later.

Oh... and I've yet to announce that JAG Studios has A NEW WEBSITE!!!

Long awaited, and still a work in progress, as always, but for now I at least have a home page slideshow of my wedding work... O.K. Steve DePino, I guess that makes me a wedding photographer! Take some time and have a look, it's a bit long, but it's beautiful images showcased by my brother's intense music, at least until I make some galleries! Drop me a note and let me know what you think!

But, I'll blog more, I promise, especially because I'm hittin' the road next week for a month. Yup, driving cross country...again! WOOHOO! So I'll have lots to blog about! Here's the deal... Chris and I are flying out to Fresno, CA to pick up our new 4x4 off-road camper custom built by Sportsmobile West. SO PSYCHED! This vehicle is so bad ass! We get to go anywhere we want! We've got the photographer's version so all the screens on the pop-top unzip so we can shoot from the bunk bed directly outside!!! We're also running a pure sine inverter so we can power a full Mac G5 dual monitor system and as many strobes as we want... even a washer and dryer if we really needed to! HA! So be ready for some crazy posts from our off-road adventures up the Grand Staircase through Utah! into Colorado, down through Denver to Santa Fe, New Mexico and then across to Asheville, North Carolina. We'll be hiking every National Park on our route, and then some! So keep in touch, leave me comments, await beautiful images from out west and our travels in our new vehicle...WOOHOO!

Oh did I mention that we've got solar panel hookups and we're soon going to convert it to biodiesel and eventually a full conversion to a completely environmentally friendly - no impact vehicle! That will mean that JAG Studios will be a completely green studio, which we are already, but this will take it to the next level with a green mobile hardcore off-road studio!

I'm not sure if anyone enjoys the details like I do, but here they are...
